I tried resistance, but I couldn't! RIRI LOVES MAC

So I tried my very best to not make any purchase of makeup for a while, but I couldn't miss out on Rihanna's collection because it WILL run out. I just got these items so I do have opinions based on first impressions.

I only picked out 5 items that I wanted the most. The blush/bronzer duo honestly did not impress me when I swatched it in store so I didn't get it. I got 2 lipsticks, 1 lipliner, cream highlight, and a lip gloss.

This cream highlight is called Diamonds. When swatch it is literally shimmery with larger particles that mimicks the expectation of diamonds glistening. It isn't so overpowering which is actually NOT my taste, I like my highlight extreme- but I will work with this and see how I like it worn.

Talk that Talk lipstick and it's matching lip liner. This color is absolutely beautiful for fall. Though it looks like Diva/ Dark side in the tube it actually swatches in a different shade of burgundy. I had been rocking dark lips in the summer so imagine the love it'll get from me in the fall and winter! The lip liner is in a prolong wear formula, and glides on absolutely perfect. HOWEVER the lipstick is a retro matte finish. This is my first time trying a retro matte and I honestly am not too fond of this finish (I didn't even like the new retro mattes in store). This color is hard to work with, it is actually patchy and you definitely need to layer twice with the lipstick or even use the lipliner to fill in the patchyness. That's just my two cents, I didn't regret buying it at all.

This is her lipstick in 'Nude.' At first it looked really weird and intimidating to wear but I fell in love. In flash it looked great, so I had to show you in a photo without flash to show how dark the nude is, and it's VERY grey. It's really nice when you apply a lipgloss on top, that way you won't look deadly.

Here's a photo of the nude lipstick with a shiny lipgloss on top.

Last but not least this is her Riri Woo lipglass, which is highly intense. I couldn't pass it. I normally wear matte finished bold lipsticks, including Ruby Woo alone. I never wore a shiny red lip, thought I might twist up a red lip look one day. If you're a glossy red lip fan, this is a must have! It's super pigmented.

That's all I've got, and I might get more when the counter near my work launches Rihanna.
Thanks for stopping by! Xx

MAC Fashion Sets 2013

I want to first apologize for the lack of activity on my blog, life has been hectic.
I want to share my new obsession with this collection that has caught my eye. There are about 4 colors in this collection that has its own lipstick, corresponding lip liner and eyeshadow. I only picked up two lipsticks and  one lip liner.

Ablaze Lipstick:

Ablaze is a very vibrant orange coral, with a red undertone. I love it shockingly! It's perfect with any skin tone and it works great with my hair color.

Embrace Me Lipstick & Lip Liner:

The reason why I bought a lip pencil for this color is because I don't have anything similar to this color to line my lips. I also love this color because it's a vibrant dark pink. I wanted to purchase Candy Yum Yum, but it is too neon for my taste. I love this because it's vibrant enough and fun for spring! Love love love this collection. I want to also mention that all products mentioned are matte finishes. All products are $15 USD each and limited edition.

NARS "And God Created The Woman" Eye Kit

I was so intrigued to purchase this eye kit. I loved the overall color concepts, the neutral colors that can be played natural or extremely smoky, but the price was a tad expensive. Overall it comes with a sample sized primer, and a travel sized brush #3. The primer I overall like, because I tried it before around Christmas. The brush surprisingly is great quality. I'm not trying to bash on other brands, but when a brush is gifted along with a palette it is usually not impressing! The #3 brush is very similar to Mac's 252 brush, but even more dense. I can see myself using it all over the lid or even using it to blend.

Shadow Names from Left to Right: Alhambra (a light champagne shimmery color, reminds me of All That Glitters from Mac)
Kalahari (A light soft taupe color, with a tad glitter, great for blending actually)
Bellissima (A champagne, taupe undertone, gold color, it's so gorgeous, and shimmery)
Galapagos (Rich cool brown, with subtle gold particles, it has an antique feeling to it)
Coconut Grove (One of NARS popular eyeshadow shades, a rich chocolate brown. This is the only actual matte color in this palette, which I don't mind- it is great for definition)
Night Clubbing (A intense dark cool brown, with multi-glitter particles, but in my opinion it will not show up very well on the eyes- from my past experience with NARS eyeshadows, not everyone will appreciate the formulation)

(Swatches are in order)

As you can see from the swatches, only the last three shadows are extremely pigmented. I am actually still happy with all of it though, because sometimes I actually like the light iridescent look of gentle softer shades. This is my first impression and I am looking forward to try this palette. Tutorial on it sometime soon maybe?

What are your thoughts? Will you purchase this limited edition piece to your collection?
Overall I am happy that this is added to my collection! I had no second thoughts purchasing this because I cannot possibly allow this limited edition piece to not be in my possession, lol. $59 may seem unworthy, but you are getting six shadows, a sample primer, and a brush that will last you forever! These are just my thoughts and opinions, hehe.

Review: Chanel Soleil De Tan

I've been eyeing this product for the longest time and decided this is the time to give it a try. Chanel beauty products are one of the most luxurious brands that can be found in department stores. I ordered mine through Macys.com and was about 48$ USD.

The product is very creamy, silky and it is not as dark so I am not sure if it's suitable for all skin tones. However I love this product because it is so natural and realistic. It is not as extreme and not even likely to the usual powder bronzers I use, such as Benefit's Hoola or Mac's Sculpting Powder. I use this product with a synthetic contour brush and it is easy to blend. I don't think this is a huge necessity for everyone but it is great to keep in your collection especially if you're all about using cream bronzers to create a more dimensional affect in photos.

I find the amount of product 5/10 fair because it is not a lot, but yet we have a good amount to work with and last awhile. I personally would not use it everyday because it is so extravagant, and I would save this for special occasions. It also has a strong fragrance, which is fruity and floral at the same time. To me it is pleasant, but may not be to others. Fragrant is subjective to everyone. Below I attached some photos of me with the product on. Disclaimer: It may look heavy, but I applied extra than usual to extenuation the color and soft effect after application.

(No flash)
(Full Face, and pretty much this bronzer slimmed my cheeks and contoured in the places I need yet it looks realistic than regular powder bronzers.)
